May Day Sports count down starts

The first meeting in the preparation for the May Day Sports 2018 was held on Friday March 16th, attended by institutions from both the public and private sector.
At the meeting, the NSC and the representatives from participants agreed that the registration fees remains the same as the previous year’s i.e D20, 000 (Twenty Thousand dalasis) per Institution. This amount covers participation fees for the sports activities and a table of 10 people at the May Day Sports Banquet.
The events to be featured are athletics, Volleyball, Greasy Pole, Musical Chair, Ministers Race, Head of Institutions race etc

Institutions are expected to pay their registration fees on or before April 15th 2018.
The May Day Sports and Banquet is organized by the National Sports Council in partnership with the Gambia Workers Union each year.
The weekly meetings between Institutions and Organizers of the May Day is held every Friday at the Independence Stadium where issues are discussed for a successful organization of the event. All aspiring participants are urged to be attending the meetings.
