By Lamin Cham Alhagie Sosseh Colley, a prominent Bakau statesman and his cousin Alieu Ceesay yesterday extended the gratitude of the people of Bakau to new town resident Modou Turo Darboe, a renowned Gambian philanthropist. According to Ahagie Sosseh Colley Mr Darboe has demonstrated a unique gesture by donating D60, 000, a bull, food, T-Shirts and other materials to the people of Bakau for the victory celebration and inauguration of President Adama Barrow. “Mr Darboe at first gave Baku Newtown D10,00, a bull, cooking oil, rice and other things; then he gave to the rest of Bakau D50,000 , some T-shirts and other materials for the event,” Mr Colley said. On behalf of the entire Bakau, Mr Colley thanked Turo Darboe for the gesture, generosity, adding that Mr Darboe’s gesture is a rare display of generosity and patriotism for which Bakau is very grateful.
