The National Assembly Member for Foni Kansala, Musa Amul Nyassi, has said that people must at all times differentiate national development from politics.
Speaking at a sensitisation meeting and cleaning exercise called by ‘Gambia Kiling’ (One Gambia) organisation in Busumbala, Nyassi called on Gambians to avoid using politics to divide people.
He told the people of Busumbala that “politics is now over and what should be the priority is to develop the country”.
He further called on the youths to take their role in national development so that the country can achieve its desired obbjective.
Speaking earlier, the National Assembly Member for Busumbala Saikouba Jarju, commended the officials of Gambia Kiling for choosing his constituency for the set-settal and sensitisation meeting. “The initiative is very timely,” he said, adding that the exercise has helped in bringing the people of Busumbala closer despite their different political affiliations.
Jarju called on Gambian youths not to allow themselves to be used to cause insecurity.
The chairman of Gambia Kiling, Momodou Salieu Jallow, better known as ‘DJ Bombastic’, thanked the people of Busumbala and those from outside attending the event and said it demonstrated that “politicians do come and go but the people of The Gambia will remain” and therefore should not allow politics to divide them.
Other speakers at the occasion were the newly appointed presidential adviser on youth, Musa Suso, a GDC representative and the VDC chairman.
