Mr Sillah informed the GFF elective congress that the NC only last week raised the matter with Caf during a meeting in Addis Ababa and the indications are that once the elections are conducted, it would not be long before the country returns to the international fold. The crowd greeted this with a loud applause.
The chairman then went on: “I want to tell you that The Gambia is small but it is respected and we must work hard to maintain that.” The NC chairman also thanked the various campaign leaders in the elections for cooperating with the NC throughout the process.
He told newly-elected president Bajo that his opponent Buba Bojang and his people are good people who have shown maturity and cooperation at all times in the electoral process.
Mr Sillah then turned to his colleagues in NC singling them out for outstanding performance and statesmanship. The other members are Ba Jabbie as vice chairman, Badara Sanneh, Legenju Vitalise and Musa Sise who was co-pted to be spokesman.]]>
