Scorpions’ utility player Pa Modou Jagne has left FC Sion after four years to join their Swiss Super League rivals FC Zürich on a two-year contract.
FC Zürich, promoted to the Swiss top-tier last season, signed the 27-year-old Gambia international on a deal that will keep him at the club until June 2019.
FC Zürich president Ancillo Canepa said: “Pa Modou can be used in different positions, thus increasing the options for our trainer. With his experience of some 180 Super League games, he will continue to give stability to our defensive cover.”
The former Gambia Ports Authority, FC Wil and FC St. Gallen player has made 115 appearances for Sion, netting six times and boasts of a Schweizer Pokal (Swiss Cup) medal with the team.
FC Zürich are twelve-time Swiss Super League winners and have been twice UEFA Champions League semi-finalists in 1963/64 and 1976/77 respectively.
