Civic society group Never Again Network NAN yesterday issued an open letter calling on Gambians to take the upcoming supplementary registration of voters seriously.
It described voting as a powerful tool that allows citizens to participate in shaping the future of their country.
Reflecting on The Gambia’s political history, NAN reminded citizens of the importance of safeguarding democracy stressing that without registration, citizens cannot participate in elections, which could lead to a lack of proper representation ..“Your vote, your power is not merely a slogan, but a reminder that democracy thrives when citizens act. Let us rise to the occasion, register and let us vote in the coming elections,” the group said. It concluded by calling for unity, maturity and active participation as the country prepares for the forthcoming elections.
