New appointments foreign service

The Gambia Government has made more new appointments into the Foreign Service with more than a dozen men and women posted in various capacities to Gambian embassies in Europe, Asia, Africa and America.

Though there has not been any official announcement about the new appointments, social media is filled with congratulatory messages to several people said to be among those appointed.

The Standard yesterday confirmed from credible sources that the list included Alex Dacosta, posted to Switzerland, Ebrima Dibba to Saudi Arabia, Tuku Jallow UAE, Bamba Mass UK and Suntu Touray, US.
Unconfirmed sources also said Facuru Sillah too is among and he is posted to France, among others not known yet.

Contacted yesterday for confirmation, the permanent secretary at the foreign affairs ministry, Njogou Bah, could only confirm that there have been some appointments but was not readily in position to supply the exact number of appointees or other details, as it was already closing time when we reached him on the phone.
