The newly appointed minister of foreign affairs Momodou Tangara on Tuesday met the new dean of the diplomatic community Professor Saliou Ndiaye, the Senegalese High Commissioner in The Gambia.
The new dean assured Mr Tangara of their continued support and vowed to continue a clear- cut open channel of communication for the benefit of all representatives in the diplomatic community.
“Meeting with Mr Tangara is a continuation of the excellent work we had with his predecessor Excellency VP Darboe, and we are fully committed to continuing this admirable working relationship” Professor Ndiaye said.
“I proposed we would like to continue meeting as a family to continue an ongoing family dialogue so that as a family we can continue to add value to the fruits that continue to bear.”
“Honourable Tangara was highly receptive during the maiden audience and has agreed to meet us regularly and as deemed necessary. I wish to also pay a special tribute to my predecessor for his strong leadership during his tenure,” the diplomat concluded.
Prof Ndiaye took over from the former Qatari Ambassador to The Gambia Mohammed BIN Nasser Al Kaabi.
