New Ocean Bay boss responds to complaints

This is serious and they have to solve the matter immediately. Not only has the management failed to pay our salaries for three months, they have also made lot of contract terminations since they took over.”

Contacted for his reaction, the new general manager, Mr Gokhan Topyanak, said the accusations were baseless. He said they took over the picturesque hotel in December 2013 and that Social Security and Housing Finance Corporation, the owners and previous runners, gave the staff until the end of February to end their contracts. “Personally, I started to manage the hotel in February and I can tell you this, we did not fire any one or terminate anyone. All the staff we met here are still with us. But I admit last month, February, we got some delay in payments of salaries. This is normal because we are transforming the hotel from Social Security management to our own management. Let them [disgruntled employees] bear with us while we settle down. This will be taken care of,” the new Ocean boss manager told The Standard in his office yesterday.
