New volleyball leadership draws up one year plan

Assistant Secretary General of the Association Lamin Jammeh said the plans were drawn in realisation that great challenges lie ahead.

“We do not have any single priority because each item on our plans is equally important as the others,  he said.

Among the plans includes a constitutional review and for the first time, introduction of the beach volleyball.

“The Gambia should now go far in beach volleyball because it is part of the calendar of international volley ball federations such as CAVB and FIVB . Our objective is to build a national beach volleyball team,” the assistant secretary said. Jammeh however lamented that funding remains a key problem in implementing these programmes and therefore called on the private sector, banks, GSM companies and others to partner with the sport.
