According to our sources, a number of Gambians whose identities have so far not been disclosed, have been nominated and confirmed by Fifa to serve in the body that now replaces the GFF executive following Fifa’s directive to invoke Article 7 of its statutes to set up a normalisation committee in the wake of The Gambia’s suspension by Caf for alleged age cheating.
The GFF has always denied that any one deliberately cheated in the age details of a player calling it an administrative error.
Again The Standard called both the GFF secretariat and the Ministry of Youth and Sports for news on the identities of the five people but no one could volunteer the names.
