NSC sends condolences over Senegal stadium deaths

The Chairman of the National Sports council NSC George Gomez yesterday sent condolence to the Senegalese sports minister Matarr Ba on the death of football fans a t the Stade Demba Diop. Atleast 8 people died in the accident. The full message reads:
Dear Hon. Minister,

The news of the tragedy at a football match in Dakar was received with great shock and the Sporting fraternity in the Gambia join me in extending our sympathy as we all mourn the loss of live of some of the fans who were at the match. May their souls rest in perfect peace and may Almighty Allah have mercy on them and forgive them their sins.

 

We share your grief, and your determination to find put the root cause of this unnecessary sad event is welcomed. We must all work towards to ensuring a safe environment where our sportsmen can feel safe to perform and our fans comfortable and secure to be entertained.
Hon. Minister please be assured of our best wishes at all times and please extend our sympathy to the families of the deceased.
