He said NSC officials will be travelling around the country from today to supervise preliminaries in wrestling in the regions to select teams for the semi-finals and final to be staged on February 20 and 22 respectively.

Bojang said once the teams come down to the semi-finals, the NSC and the Gambia Wrestling Association will use the opportunity to complete the July 22 championship which was halted following a fatal car accident involving a number of youths.

On football, Mr Bojang said all seven regions will send their regional football teams to Banjul on February 26 to take part in a straight knock -out championship that will crown a national champion by the March 1.

He thanked sports minister Alieu Jammeh and President Jammeh for promoting sports, especially wrestling in the country by including it in national programmes.
