The National Sports Council NSC is embarking on a country wide capacity building training program for regional sports committees in the seven administrative regionson sports ”governance and leadership”.
The programme started in Banjul on Friday at the City Council’s hall.
The training is meant to enhance the knowledge and skills of the regional sports committees and associations in their day-to-day operations of governing and provide knowledge, which may be passed to others for the smooth and steady development of the Gambian sports.
Twenty-five participants drawn from various sporting fraternities under the auspices of the Banjul sports committee headed by Ousainou Darboe took part in the training which will be centered on various thematic issues ranging from decision making, leaderships, problems solving and sports governance amongst other things.
The National Sports Council is the main promotional and coordinating sports agency in the country.
