The Gambia has registered one new coronavirus case, taking the total number of cases in the country to 42.
The new case is a 45-year-old Senegalese national who evaded quarantine and secretly entered the country from Senegal.

The man lived with his wife and child for at least three days before he was reported and picked up by health authorities.
According to health ministry, 141 persons were newly taken into quarantine, 16 discharged after completing mandatory quarantine period.

There are 393 persons in quarantine, 14 active and 5 probable cases.
Meanwhile, the health ministry last night revealed that four out of the 140 who arrived in the country with SN Brussels on 22 June initially escaped from quarantine. However, one surrendered himself while the second was picked up with her boyfriend who smuggled her while logistic arrangements were in progress at the airport.
The rest are urged to surrender themselves or their names will be announced in the media.
