The Standard has reliably learnt that more than 300 people from deferent parties and individuals will contest the 120 area council wards in The Gambia.
So far the APRC, GDC, NCP and GMC have nominated their candidates while today will be the turn of the UDP and the GPDP.
According to APRC spokesman Seedy Njie, the party has put up 65 candidates across the country including all the wards in KM and West Coast Region. As for the GDC, they have put up 86 candidates across the country while the NCP 4 and GMC too sponsored 24 candidates.
Today Thursday, the United Democratic UDP will put up nominations and according to a senior party officials, they will contest all 120 seats. On Friday it will be turn for the NRP and the PPP while the independent candidates and PDOIS will take their turn on Saturday.
