A number of fans with fond memories of the Belgian’s time in charge of the Scorpions told The Standard that The Gambia should consider rehiring him.
”I think Paul still loves The Gambia and his time has been the most hopeful era in Gambian football in the recent past’,’ a respected football official commented.
Paul worked in Banjul from 2007 to 2011 during which time his fans said he raised The Gambia’s rating to the highest. He however fell short of qualifying the team to the nation’s cup, a feat he achieved in Burkina Faso where he took the Stallions to the final of the Afcon in 2012.
The Gambia national team is currently without a coach hence the suggestion to get Paul back.]]>
