Philanthropist gives Ramadan gifts to Muslims

Penny Appeal Gambia, an international philanthropist organisation based in the United Kingdom has recently handed over rice, sugar and cooking oil to Muslims through its ‘Feed our world Programme’ at their office in Dippa Kunda.

Penny Appeal is also a registered Muslim charity operating in the country over the years focusing on aid distribution to needy Gambians.

Speaking ahead of the presentation, the head of admin and finance Gambia office Lamin Jobe, said: “Penny Appeal International is operating in 36 countries all over the world and Africa inclusive. And our office in The Gambia is the main office responsible for affairs in West Africa.”

The head of social welfare, Buba Saidykhan said: “This is part of their annual Ramadan package gifts to support the needy families in The Gambia and West Africa.”
He said the objective is to support the most vulnerable people in society.

Alagie Bubaccar Manneh of Brufut commended the donors for the gesture, noting that these items have reached to those that need them the most, “we are very appreciative of this gesture.”
Karafa Ndure from the Gambia Police Force, also a beneficiary, hailed the staff of Penny Appeal the Gambia office for their generosity.
