Police arrest murder suspect

Police in the Kanifing municipality have arrested one Mika Ba, a 32-year-old man and a native of Pikine, Dakar, The Standard can authoritatively report.

He is the main suspect in the killing of his roommate, Pape Ndiaye on 21 October 2017 in Manjai Kunda .
The accused is currently under the custody at Kairaba Police Station helping with the investigations.
The accused is suspected to have killed Ndiaye after allegedly hitting him with a stick on his face and breaking his jaws.

Police public relations officers, Assistant Superintendent Foday Conta, confirmed the development.
He explained that the accused was arrested in Tanji where he was hiding since the incident earlier this month.
“At the moment we could not establish the circumstances that led the accused to kill his countryman,” he said.
The accused, he went on, has been charged with murder and the matter is still under investigation.
