The aspiring candidate contesting on the PPP ticket for Bundung Ward has said that the People’s Progressive Party is organizing a massive political rally on Sunday 8 April with its party leader Hon Omar Jallow and senior executive members of the party set to attend.
The rally is organized to promote the party agenda to the community of Bundung and introduce the new councilors contesting in the upcoming local government elections.
Seedy Mbenga, one of the PPP aspirants, walked into the offices of The Standard regarding the upcoming rally while setting out his plans for the ward if elected later this month.
“I have a lot of development priorities for the Bundung Ward especially the community garage and the Bundung highway which is the major constraint for the community,” he said, adding that he has been at the ceentre of development projects in the locality eve before he joined politics.
Speaking about his campaign strategy, Mr Mbenga, said: “I have started the house-to-house campaign but the bigger rally will soon kick start. We are also organizing an entertainment night for the youth of Bundung as a form of a social event to interact with the youth of Bundung.”
Mbenga thanked the President of the Gambia Adama Barrow for promoting peace in the country, saying “we should not be divided because of politics and I thank our party leader Hon Omar Jallow for supporting us during this crucial moment. I urged my supporters to rally behind me for the development of bundung.”
