Saulayman Kuyateh, the former Brikama United coach who took over the telecommunications giants Gamtel FC at the start of the season has won the coach of the month award for the second consecutive month.
During the period from Week 5 to Week 8, Kuyateh led his team to a total of 7 points over the period, which was the most across the league and this was despite his team only playing three games whilst others had played four. Opposition coaches currently have no answer against Kuyateh’s men.
The monthly awards are determined by an Awards Panel which received recommendations from the Coaches’ Association and Players’ Association respectively and all of their recommendations were approved and endorsed by the panel.

Each winner will receive a cash prize of D2000, a certificate of achievement and a bottle of celebration drink, which will be presented at their next match.
The fulllist of winners and the categories are as follows:
Player of the Month
Yankuba Sabally – Fortune FC
The shot-stopper has been the saviour for his team many times not only this month but also since the start of the season. In a month that was short of goals it is also important to recognise the contribution of those who kept the ball out of the net and Sabally fits the bill perfectly. He has also stood out for his composure, agility and bravery, coming up with crucial interventions for his team.
In reaching the decision to award Sabally, the awards panel also disqualified one of the nominees, Foday Seckan of Tallinding United, as he received a red card during the closing stages of their final match of the month against Fortune.

Ousman Drammeh – BK Milan FC
Whilst carrying out a number of different roles at the club, Drammeh has led his team to three wins and the 9 points collected across the month were more than any other team and they have also added goals to their performances to reach the play-off places. The panel was particularly impressed by the manner he has led the team with an emphasis on possession and with an attacking strategy.

Second Division Player of the Month
Fabakary Touray – Kexx United FC
Touray has been seen as the key man in stabilising Kexx at the top of the Second Division table with his goal-scoring contributions from midfield. As a box-to-box player, he has impressed with his energy, technique and quality at set-pieces and has also come up with crucial goals and assists for his team, he also stood out for his work-rate and fighting spirit.
The Women’s Leagues Nominees and Winners will soon follow.
