The Governor of Lower River Region Fanta Bojang Samateh-Manneh has said the new Gambia government prioritises health and education.
Madam Samateh-Manneh made this remark on Saturday while presiding over the inauguration of a newly built science and computer lab by the UK Jarra Association for Soma Upper and Senior Secondary School in Jarra.
“This is simply premised on the fact that, education and health remain key priorities in the development agenda of the Government of the Gambia as clearly highlighted in the National Development Plan,” she said.
” Today’s launching of the science and technology computer lab and an extension of the Soma health center, as part of the overall health and education project designed by the UK Jarra association to support education and health in the, couldn’t have come at a better and more convenient time than this,” she added.
According to her, this will contribute towards achieving some of the strategies in the National Development blueprint to ensure the achievement of all levels of education in the country, particularly in the field of science and technology in meeting the demands of the 21st century educational requirements.
