Grammy award winner, Seinabo Sey recently dropped a new single, on which the Sweden based star gives fans a different approach like never before. The single is titled, “I Owe You Nothing,” and in both the song and accompanying video, premiered recently, Sey delivers determination draped in effortless cool.
In the clip, directed by Sheila Johansson, Sey is in complete control, only bothering to stand to set a car on fire.

“I figured it’s time I stand up for myself and this is my best way of doing that,” Sey said. “I’m so looking forward to singing for you guys again.”
The song was produced by Magnus The Magnus (aka Magnus Lidehäll) and Sey’s previous collaborators Vincent Pontare and Salem Al Fakir, as well as her friend Isak Alverus.

Along with the song’s B-side, “Remember,” which features Jacob Banks, this is her first new music in over two years, and will be followed by more later in the year.
Born in Sweden, the pop star was surrounded by artistry and creativity since birth. Her father the late Maudo Sey was a renowned musician in Senegambia. She grew up musically inspired and listening to the uplifting and engendering sounds of stars such as, Alicia Keys and Beyonce also had a great influence in her life. This was just at the age of 9.

Soon she became hooked and more addicted to music and went on to embrace music at the age of 16. Shortly afterwards, she moved to Stockholm where she enrolled in a music school.
Started out first with producer Magnus Lidehall, Sey went on to release her first single Younger followed by Hard Time and then Pistols at Dawn.

The song was also featured on BBC radio and in October 2014, Sey released her first EP dedicated and named after her mum. On that same month she performed at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm and also performed at the 2014 Novel Peace Prize Concert.
