The Lions go into this afternoon’s encounter buoyed by news that star striker Sadio Mane has made good recovery on his calf injury that had initially clouded his contribution to the Lions’ campaign.
According to reports monitored from the Senegalese press the Southampton man took part in all of the working sessions at the Lions’ training in Mongoma yesterday. It is not however clear whether he will feature in the starting lineup against Ghana today. Meanwhile during this training,
coach Alain Giresse was reported to have focused on technique and vigor.
Amsatta Fall, a former technical director was quoted as saying: “During this session, the coaching staff focused on review of basic techniques to revitalize the boys. Then we went in to a constructive game situation.” He also went on to add: “The Lions then worked on alertness without the ball, before finishing with an opposition of eleven against eleven. This is part of an application that allows us to synthesize the working session of the day. And in view of the conduct of the sessions, we can say that the Lions have done a good work session this evening”.
