The Senegalo-Gambian Permanent Secretariat proposed business networking forum for both the public and private sector institutions in Senegal and The Gambia has been reschedule.

The two day interactive forum which was initially scheduled to take place at King Fahad Palace Hotel in Dakar, Senegal from Thursday 25th to Friday 26th May 2017 is now moved to Wednesday 25th to Thursday 26th  October 2017 at the same place.

Confirming the news to the press yesterday at the Senegalo-Gambian Permanent Secretariat, the executive secretary, Ambassador Paul Badji said the rescheduling of the date was requested by governments of both countries.

He said though the secretariat has made significant gains during the past few days in terms of mobilising business stakeholders in both Gambia and Senegal, the change of date will only give them enough time to mobilise more business entities before October.

“The Vice President of the Gambia and the premier Minister of Senegal all requested for the date to be pushed to allow them time to also mobilise themselves at government level. They told us as it is a matter of government they will want to take the leadership to bring everyone on board to ensure that it makes a great impact,” he said.

He said given the fact that Ramadan and the Senegalese Parliamentary election are next door, it was also necessary to push the date to allow them enough time to organise without any notable obstruction.
