Elective congresses in Lamin and Serekunda East could not hold yesterday after stakeholders at both zones could not agree on procedures, In Lamin delegates could not agree among themselves on the procedure amid reports that the zone does not even have a constitution. Following a tensed stand off, some leveled headed people suggested that the congress be put off to avoid clashes.
Consequently it was agreed that the outgoing committee hand over to the Alkalo of the village who will then summon club representatives who in turn will elect an interim committee to preside over sports there until at such time that a proper congress can he held.
At Serekunda East too matters had to be put off after a stand off emerged as to whether a recommended proposed constitutional amendment should be conducted before or after the congress. After what seem to be a tensed stand off it was agreed that the congress be put off to avoid conflict in the hall.
