Speaking to a Senegalese journalist in what was his first public appearance after his expulsion from Senegal, Bayo said: “I have no link with the leaders of the coup attempt in The Gambia.”

Bayo leads a political grouping, the National Transitional Council of The Gambia, which was formed in 2012 in Senegal and has constantly threatened to remove President Jammeh from power by violent means.
