In The Gambia, celebrations started among Sierra Leoneans since on Friday with prayers at mosques until yesterday with prayers in churches across the country too.
The weekend programme also included a “Paddle Parade’ a masquerade tour party which paraded most parts of Greater Banjul Area.
The celebrations will continue today with a gala dinner at the residence of the Sierra Leone Ambassador’s residence while a football match between Sierra Leoneans and Nigerians is scheduled to take place on Wednesday at the Manjai Park.

The independence celebrations shall wrap on Thursday with the SLPP dance at the President’s International Awards Scheme in Bakau.
