Ousman Sowe, the Director General of the State Intelligence Services was in Khartoum Sudan recently attending the 14th Conference of the Committee of Intelligence and Security Services of Africa (CISSA). The conference was attended by 47 African countries.
Addressing the gathering, DG Sowe gave a detailed briefing on the security, political and related situations in The Gambia.
He began thanking governments and institutions of the sub region in particular and the African continent in general for the robust military intervention by ECOMIG, (the Ecowas mission in The Gambia) as well as the political support from ECOWAS, the AU, the UN and other global actors, which he said saved the Gambia from sliding into an internal civil strife.
