Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Sise revealed that the annual event which is now six years old, is aimed at honouring individuals, athletes, sports personalities as well as living legends for their achievements and contribution towards Gambian sports.
According to Sise, the presence of high profile international icons at the event is meant to raise the profile of Gambian sports as well as provide an excellent opportunity to market the country’s culture and promote products and services of business partners to the visitors and the general public.

SJAG is equally pleased to announce that it will this year recognise and celebrate the first Gambian referee to officiate at a Fifa World Cup , Bakary Papa Gassama, who is also the best referee in Africa among others awards,” Sise said.
