Soldiers at the Kudang military camp have recently arrested a Senegalese man, suspected of being a drug peddler after he was apprehended with suspected cannabis, several foreign currencies and harmful weapons following a raid on him over the weekend.
The suspect was also found with £500, D5000 and a similar currency in Guinean Franc.
The soldiers intervened following an alarm by a local resident who noticed an unfamiliar situation in his residential area and called the attention of the army.
Upon their arrival at the scene, the suspect was said to have hidden in the rice fields, but was later found and arrested. The security forces then conducted a search, which led to the discovery of the suspected items.
The suspect was later transferred to Kudang police station where further investigations and processing were done.
When contacted, GAF PRO Captain Malick Sanyang confirmed the development, stating that the suspect was handed over to the relevant security institutions for further investigations.
