The handing over ceremony took place at the Cricket Office in Banjul with Andrew Shank from Sussex, the main sponsor of the cricket equipment presenting the items to the Gambia Cricket Association President, Dr Johnny Gomez.
The ceremony was attended by other Gambia Cricket Board members such as vice president Mbye Dumbuya and secretary general Wilfred R Riley and cricket players. The two also discussed the possibility of UK/Gambia exchange programs for coaching, umpiring, high performance and junior level. “The gesture is a goodwill indicator of the willingness of international stakeholders to support the growth of cricket in The Gambia. We say thank you to Sussex Over 50s/60s,” said President Johnny Gomez.
