An official statement sent to this paper read: “The Turkish Embassy in Banjul would like to inform you that there will be a Turkish business delegation headed by the Governor of the Turkish Province of Aydin from 12th-15th February 2015. Governor Erol Ayyıldız and delegation will be accompanied to The Gambia by our Ambassador to Ankara, His Excellency Momodou Badjie.”
Meanwhile, according a drafted programme of activity, the team will today hold meetings with the Gambia Investment and Export Promotion Agency and the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The draft also stated that the delegation will pay visits to the ministries of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment and as well visit the speaker of the National Assembly. There will also be a day-long business forum tomorrow. This will be followed by a twinning ceremony of the University of The Gambia and the University of Aydin which will be held on Saturday. The visit will climax on Sunday during which the team will visit the West Coast Region for another twinning ceremony between that region and the province of Aydin.
