The Turkish Police on Wednesday completed a 10-training for 42 Police Intervention Unit officers on VIP protection against terrorism.
The ten-day intensive training course was coordinated under the context of international cooperation on police training. The training was held at the PIU hall in Kanifing.

Speaking at the ceremony, deputy police commissioner, Omar Darboe, said the training was a fruit of the bilateral relations between Turkey and The Gambia.
He said the training was long overdue and expressed his gratitude to the Turkish trainers.
“We have received this wholeheartedly at the PIU barracks in Kanifing on behalf of the Inspector General of Police. This training on bodyguard and VIP protection will help our officers in their work. It is their turn now as VIP protection team to do this in the field and do what they have been taught,” he noted.
