Salifu Trawally and Essa Jarra are charged with possession of prohibited drugs for the purpose of trafficking and aggravated drug trafficking.
The particulars of offence for possession of prohibited drugs for the purpose of trafficking states: “Salifu Trawally on or about the 17th of March 2015 at Banjul in the Banjul Municipal Council of the Republic of The Gambia and elsewhere within the jurisdiction of this honourable court did conspire to commit an offence to wit: found in possession of 1kilogram 60 grams of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and thereby committed an offence.”
Prosecutors, on count two, charged that Essa Jarra commit aggravated drug trafficking. The particulars of offence reads: “Essa Jarra of on or about the 17th of March 2015 at at Banjul in the Banjul Municipal Council of the Republic of The Gambia and elsewhere within the jurisdiction of this honourable court commit an offence to wit: found in possession of 60 grams of cocaine and thereby committed an offence.”
Both men are yet to appear in court.
