UDP NBR selects candidate on Feb 4

The United Democratic Party UDP will stage a primary election to select one out of five applicants seeking for Chairmanship in North Bank Region Area Council.
The election will take place in Kerewan on 4 February, 2018.

Mr. Karamo Jadama, the Regional Chairman for UDP who walked into the offices of The Standard asserted he was given directive by the Executive Committee of the Party to conduct an interview of the 11 UDP applicants for the position of Chairman of North Bank Region Municipal Area Councils.
“I worked with Lamin Cham representing the National Executive Committee together with the 5 National Assembly Members of the NBR and they were all part of the panel members. The applicants were presented by the Regional Coordinator Sait Joof and they were all interviewed by the panel,” Jadama said.

He said during the process 4 applicants were dropped for not meeting the selection criteria while another 2 also declined leaving 5 applicants who will go into the primaries on 4 February in Kerewan.
The chairman further revealed that similar interviews were held for area councilor aspirants on the UDP ticket all of which went successfully.
