Presenting the cheque to the National Coordinator Badinyaa, Omar Sowe, managing director of Universal Properties said it is part of their corporate responsibility as service provider to plough back their profit to the communities.
He said due to their tight situation, the company is able to come up with such a donation promising to do more in the future.
“We are operating in order to contribute our quota to the national development of the country and of one such is by donating to organised groups like Badinyaa who have been supporting the Brikama Major Health Facility,” he said.
In receiving the cheque, Alieu Darboe, Badinyaa National Coordinator lauded the donors for their humanitarian gesture saying that they are very grateful to receive such an amount of money from them.
“Badinyaa membership is indeed honoured with the donation as Universal Properties is the first to respond positively towards the request sent to companies for assistance,” he said.
Today is yet another commendable day in the history of Badinyaa because one of our partners has come to our aid in our quest to promote health for all at the Brikama Health Facility and the money would be used for the purpose it is meant for.
Darboe tasks other reputable and humanitarian agencies to emulate Universal Properties and support their noble cause, noting that since the inception of Badinyaa, they have been struggling to fund their activities as they are without any funding from partners.
Sulayman M Sanyang, CEO Badinyaa in a brief remarks, noted that the donation is very laudable and timely as they are warming up for the fiesta in a week time.
“If other companies are also doing the same support, then Badinyaa would have registered a lot at the Facility,” he said.
Abdoulie Camara, the accountant at the company said they are very happy to be associated with Badinyaa, saying that they have been rendering cleansing services to the facility on numerous occasions as well as donating items to them.
He stated that they would love to do more, but due to their other financial commitments, they were only able to come up with such promise to expand in future.
