Sidy Lamine Niasse, the founder, president and CEO of the famous Walfadjiri media group in Senegal has died. He was 67. Niasse estbalished the Walfadjiri Group back in the 90s and he was regarded as one of the pioneers of a vibrant and free media in Senegal. President Macky Sall reacted to the sad news on twitter account: “I learned with emotion the disappearance of Sidy Lamine Niasse, great name of the Senegalese press, active witness of mutations and democratic struggles of our society, my compassion to his family, to the Walfadjiri group and to the Senegalese press, to rest in peace.”]]>
