The 2017 end-of-year activities of the West African monetary institution continue at the Kairaba Beach Hotel yesterday with the 42nd meeting of the technical committee of West African Monetary Zone, WAMZ.
Addressing the gathering, the permanent secretary at the Ministry of Finance Lamin Camara said the meeting will provide the platform to take stock of the level of progress made towards achieving a monetary and economic union as well as allow delegates to deliberate on strategies and policies that will enhance monetary integration and harmonisation of policies.
Mr Lassane Kabore, director of multilateral surveillance at the Ecowas Commission congratulated the west African monetary agency for the good work during the last few days of the technical committee meetings, saying it will help in the successful implementation of the Ecowas monetary corporation programme.
The director general of WAMI Dr Ngozi E. Eghuma, presented a lengthy report covering various activities for the adoption of the Technical Committee.
