Ms Patricia Fangawa, a Gambia-based Sierra Leonean businesswoman is the star witness in the trial of former magistrate, Saikou Fatty, who is standing trial on two counts of official corruption.

During yesterday’s proceeding, defence lawyer, Lamin Camara, enquired from the witness when she paid the D10,000 and the Gold wristwatch and she replied that it was on March 18, adding it was the same day that she also paid D8,000 to the accused.
The woman added that although she did not have any receipt for any of the transactions, including the D2,000 which was also paid, a Joseph Wizman was present at the time and witnessed the payment.
She said Fatty promised her that he would strike her case out in a gradual process.
The case resumes February 5.
