A 22-year-old woman who was hit by a PIU truck, has died police sources confirmed to The Standard.
The deceased is identified as one Fatou Bah, a former security guard of a private security firm Marshall Security.
The accident happened on Sunday as Bah was riding on the back of a motor-cycle near the Sankung Sillah junction.
She was rushed to the Serekunda General Hospital where she passed away on the same day. She was from Kerr Galo village in Upper Nuimi, resident in Sinchu Alagie.
According to Police PRO ASP Foday Conta, the Gambia Police Force have been in contact with the family of the deceased since the tragedy happened and a delegation from the Police hierarchy is expected to visit the deceased’s family tomorrow to express condolence.
He said the officer involved is currently under investigation and the law will take its course.
