The youth mobiliser team ‘Gom Sah Bopa’ Lamin Sey who himself faced arrest under the Jammeh regime for holding peaceful demonstration said arresting a sports journalist is totally wrong and his team condemns the act.

“The arresting of a journalist for just organising a press conference is totally illegal which my team as activists condemn in the strongest form,” Sey told The Standard in an exclusive interview.

“This government is not different from the precious one because we had the same way of governance. So unless the whole constitution is changed, then there wouldn’t be any huge difference between two governments,” he said.

The team gom sah bopa was formed in 2011 which was led by a Gambian rapper and activist Killa Ace, who fled the country after releasing a song about Jammeh’s stifling of dissent.
