By Alagie Manneh & Baba Sillah Eleven people will be sworn in as ministers in the new government, spokesperson Halifa Sallah revealed yesterday at a press conference at the Kairaba Beach Hotel. According to him, another seven will be appointed later based on competence and qualification in the coming days. Sallah however did not disclose the names of those set to be sworn-in today but insisted the appointments are based on competence and experience after proper screening has been done by the vetting committee. He postulated that as soon as they take their oath of office, work will commence on that very day. “The president has the duty to appoint a vice president and ministers based on their competency and qualification. The ministers have been appointed and they are given their appointment letters after careful screening has been done before their appointment,” Sallah said. The eleven ministers to be named today are to take charge of the following ministries: Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture, Attorney General and Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Tourism and Culture, Ministry of Local Government and Lands, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Fisheries and National Assembly Matters and Ministry of Forestry.]]>
