200 KIDS TO BENEFIT FROM VOLLEYBALL PROJECT

Speaking at the launching,the President of The Gambia Volleyball Association GVBA Yunussa Barry revealed that  that under the project, some 200 children would be recruited from the BCC, KM and West Coast regions to be trained and facilitated in the sport. He called for support from the Ministry of youth and sports and other bodies to promote and develop volleyball which is now growing successfully and fastly in The Gambia.

Interior Minister Ousman Sonko representing Sports Minister Alieu Jammeh, described the future of Gambian Volleyball as bright and urged for greater participation in the sport around the country. Minister Sonko also used the platform to urge technicians in the sport to recruit talents from as wide as possible in the country without reference to tribe, religion or affection.

‘The project is for Gambian children and should benefit all with the required skills and talents,” he said. The minster thanked the FIVBA and the country’s volleyball body, the GVBA, for the realisation of the project
