They have been awarded scholarships for bachelor of technology (B Tech) course in various universities in India. For those who may not be aware, securing a B Tech University seat in India itself is a very difficult task and thus we thank the Government of India and congratulate the students selected.
All these students are travelling to India on the 1 July 2014 for admission and study there. One coordinator from the Ministry of Higher Education will also accompany them.
The 23 students are going to India to pursue higher studies on this Indian government scholarship for a period of three to four years or more depending on the course selected.
All boarding, lodging, tuition fees and local living stipend et cetera will be granted by the Indian government under the terms of ICCR scholarships.
The Embassy of India, Dakar, Senegal, alongside with the Honorary Consul General of India to The Gambia and the Indian community in The Gambia wish them all the best. We trust this encourages more students to be aware of the ever-growing relationship between India and The Gambia.
