7 Football Scouts due in Banjul

Seven foreign football scouts are due in the country tomorrow on a three- day scouting visit.
They are as guests of the Super Stars Academy FC, of Ebo Town.
The scouts are from France, Italy, Croatia, Serbia and Israel.
During their visit, the host academy will organize trials at the QCity Sports Complex in Bijilo from 18th-20th February for the visitors watch talents in display.

Super Stars Academy FC is headed by Ismaila Jagne, a former Gambian international player.
The academy currently has over 70 players and is planning to register for the KM Regional third division league.

Ousman Gaye, secretary general of the football academy said the academy has over the years helped many players turn professionals, among them former Banjul United Star Pa Omar Babou, who now plays in Croatia.
Abdourahman Barry, the vice president of the football academy, the would-be identified players from the upcoming trials, will play a test game against Ba-njul United on the 20 February. He said the scouts’ visit is an opportunity for them to watch and where possible, identify talents for recruitment into foreign clubs.
