Speaking at KMC where the programme was held, Saiba T Suso, the programme officer for the organisation, said the training was important in empowering young people to participate actively in decision making and political processes.

He noted that Activista is a national chapter of African Youth Coalition against Hunger and it started as a pilot project in 2008, and works under the guidance and support of Action Aid International, The Gambia.

Also speaking, Abubacarr Kebbeh, focal person for the KMC branch of Activista, highlighted that the training would equip the participants with basic skills in leadership, campaign and motivation strategies.
