The appointment of the former president Dawda Jawara’s son, Ebrima Jawara, as director general at the department of agriculture has been rescinded, sources who preferred anonymity informed The Standard.
Jawara was appointed director general on 4 September, replacing Falalo Touray, whose contract at the agriculture ministry ended on 2 September 2017.
According to our sources, Jawara last went to work on Thursday.
Both the permanent secretary of agriculture, Sait Drammeh, and Minister Omar Jallow claimed they have no knowledge about Jawara’s appointment and cannot therefore comment on it.
