The former managing director of Nawec, Alagie Conteh has appealed to the Janneh Commission to investigate the sum of US$65,000,000 agreement between the company and Muhammad Bazzi, a Lebanese- Belgian businessman with regard to the generators he supplied to the company among other issues.
Mr Conteh made the appeal yesterday as he reappeared before the Janneh Commission on matters relating to the national energy company, Nawec.
Mr Conteh, whose evidence centred on the supply of generators spoke on a wide range of issues relating to the company as well as the monopoly of fuel supply and spare parts to the company by Lebanese- Belgian business mogul, Muhammad Bazzi.
Mr Conteh testified that when he took over as the managing director of the company, they had generators such as G6, G3, G11, G1 and G2 respectively.
According to him, they were managing the said generators effectively and the power failure was not frequent as today, claiming that when Mr Bazzi came, he brought three generators which included generators G7, G4 and G8.
