The APRC NAM for Foni Kansala, Musa Amul Nyassi has clarified that his party intends to mark July 22 anniversary celebrations on condition that the police grant them a permit, which they have applied for. “I want to make it clear that we have not yet been given the permit; all I had said was we have written to the police for permission and not that we have been granted one, as reported.”

Once granted permit, Nyassi said the party will hold a press conference to outline the nature of the celebrations.
The reporter, Isatou Jawara, admitted her error and apologised to Mr Nyassi for any inconvenience her report may have caused him.
The Standard has learnt that Mr Nyassi was summoned to the police head office to clarify the statement attributed to her in The Standard. He has been asked to report back this morning.
